Elder Scrolls Online Devs Admit Hard Road After Layoffs
The Elder Scrolls Online is still standing. But the people who make it are being unusually honest about how much the ground has shifted beneath them.
Months after a round of layoffs that hit the team hard, developers at ZeniMax have spoken to PC Gamer about where things stand. Their answer is that the studio hasn't fully recovered, the losses still sting, and the path forward is going to be difficult.
That's not the kind of message MMO players usually get from a studio. Most live-service teams prefer to talk about the next expansion, the next event, the next shiny thing. ZeniMax is talking about survival.
