GTA Online Halloween Events Run All Through October

Los Santos has gone spooky for the month.

Grand Theft Auto Online has started its Halloween season, and it isn't a single weekend of spooky bonuses. The multiplayer crime sandbox has lined up events and rewards that run through the whole of October. The theme is everywhere, from the races to the side activities you might otherwise ignore.

There's also a subtext to all of this, and it's hard to miss. GTA 6 is on the horizon, and the obvious question hanging over the original online game is what happens to it once the sequel arrives. A month of seasonal events won't answer that question, but it does keep players busy and logging in while they wait.

ARK: Survival Ascended Adds Gargantar, Cerberax and More

ARK: Survival Ascended just got bigger, in more ways than one.

This latest round of updates isn't one patch. It's three, spread across the base game and two separate DLCs. Each one brings a creature to the island. One is a dragon with a bottomless appetite. One is a three-headed dog with a familiar silhouette. And one is an existing dinosaur that has finally been given some long-overdue attention.

How much of this you can actually play depends on how deep into ARK you've already gone. The base game update is there for everyone. The other two sit behind the Dragontopia and Fantastic Tames Season 1 DLCs, so only players who own those expansions will meet the new monsters. For the committed, though, that's three new reasons to head back out into the wilds.

RuneFest Saturday: Dragonwilds Roadmap and RuneScape 2027

RuneFest is back, and Jagex has a lot to say.

The studio's convention for RuneScape fans takes place this Saturday, October 3. Whether you have a ticket or plan to watch from home, the schedule is worth knowing ahead of time. RuneFest has become the moment each year when Jagex lays out where its games are heading, and this edition covers three of them in a single day.

Dragonwilds gets the opening slot

Things kick off at 9 AM Eastern, or 6 AM Pacific. For anyone tuning in from Europe or Asia, that means a midday or evening session depending on where you live. The first panel is the RuneScape: Dragonwilds Summit, which is the first time Dragonwilds has had a summit of its own at the show.

Fallout 76 Roadmap Adds World Pets and Raven Rock Map

The bombs fell a long time ago in Fallout 76, but Bethesda clearly isn't treating its online RPG like a game living on borrowed time. Quite the opposite, actually.

In its latest director's letter, the studio laid out a fresh roadmap that stretches across several seasons. It covers what's happening right now, what's coming over the winter and spring, and a map expansion planned for next summer that could turn out to be the headline act. It's a long view, and for a game set in the aftermath of nuclear war, that's a pretty optimistic one.

Halloween Comes First

Before any of the new content lands, there's the matter of the present. Fallout 76 is currently running its Pint-Sized Slasher event, which is tearing its way across the map for the Halloween season. If you've drifted away from Appalachia and need an excuse to check back in, this is the one that's live today.

Enlisted Off-road Patrol Update Adds Armed Light Vehicles

Sometimes the best way across a battlefield is to stop walking.

That is the idea behind "Off-road Patrol," the latest update for Enlisted. The free-to-play World War II shooter now gives players small, fast off-road vehicles built to get a squad from one objective to the next in a hurry. They also come armed, so anyone standing between you and that capture point should probably move.

It's a simple pitch, and that's part of the appeal. Enlisted has always been a game about scale, with squads, tanks and aircraft fighting over sprawling maps. Getting around those maps on foot can be slow. A light vehicle with a mounted gun changes the pace in a way that's easy to understand the moment you see one.
