New World Patch Delivers Player Wishlist Before Shutdown
New World is not long for this world. The MMORPG is scheduled to shut down in January 2027, and its remaining developers are using the time left to give players a few of the things they asked for.
A patch arriving today, October 14th, is built largely around a fan-compiled wishlist. The team describes it as "a small but mighty number of player facing changes." That's a fair summary. This isn't a content drop or a new zone. It's a handful of targeted tweaks aimed at the parts of the game that the remaining community spends its time in.
